Siemens Energy has been selected to support Taiwan’s energy transition by supplying key components for Kuo Kuang 2 Power Co.Ltd s new natural gas-fired power plant in Tainan. The company will provide two high-efficiency SGT6-8000H gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and related services. The plant is expected to produce around 1.2 gigawatts of electricity while reducing CO₂ emissions compared to older coal-fired facilities, aligning with Taiwan’s goal of phasing out coal and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
