In recent years, PTSC Quang Ngai Joint Stock Company (PTSC Quang Ngai) has continued to strengthen its competitiveness and improve service quality in mechanical fabrication. In response to increasingly stringent technical requirements, particularly for export-oriented projects, PTSC Quang Ngai has been gradually implementing solutions to improve production stability, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance working conditions for employees. One of the concrete steps in this roadmap is the deployment of the MIG/MAG welding robot system at the PTSC Dung Quat Mechanical Factory.
The welding robot system has been introduced to support the fabrication of large-sized components, complex structures, and products involving long weld seams, including Exhaust System, Roof Casing, Lifting & Erection Frame, and particularly panel-type structures. The application of welding robots helps make the fabrication process more synchronized, enhances weld consistency, and increases flexibility in organizing production at suitable stages.
In addition to its capability for continuous operation, the system is integrated with supporting technologies such as a digital twin interface, scanning technology, and data processing for weld seam identification and positioning. Based on the collected data, the software can assist in developing welding programs, simulating operations and optimizing welding path prior to actual execution. This approach helps minimize fabrication deviations while improving quality control throughout the production process.
Beyond its technical benefits, the application of welding robots also contributes to improving working conditions at the factory. For certain welding operations conducted in high-temperature environments with fumes and dust, direct exposure of workers is reduced, thereby enhancing safety and improving the overall working environment. This aligns with the Company’s direction toward stable, safe, and sustainable development.
